Our Active Age Group have enjoyed six weeks of reflexology which has proved very beneficial to them As the Christmas is drawing close we have the usual line up of events: Starting on Sunday December 10th the Senior Citzens Christmas Party is on in the Travellers Friend Hotel. There they will have their Christmas Dinner with entertainment afterwards. Transport is arranged for those who need it. The entire day just costs £5.00. The day is open to all Senior Citizens in the Castlebar area. We also have the Christmas Dinner here in the Centre for our regular people which this year is on Thursdaty 21st December. We also take in people from the country and they finish tthe day with some entertainment. Our Monster Bingo session is on the 18th December where our wheelchair people will also attend We are also having our get-together for all our volunteers and generally people that give their help throughout the year. That takes place on Wednesday night 13th December. Enertainment and refreshments are provided and most of the people look forward to this night every year. Our Centre closes for one day, which is, Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve we usually deliver two dinners to those people who are less fortunate in having no relatives or someone to look after them on Christmas Day. We have discovered there can be quite a lot of people alone for Christmas with no relatives or friends. Our Meals-on-Wheels service is quite essential to some of those older people or people living alone.
