Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes to keep a radio station on air twenty four hours a day? Who are the faces behind the familiar voices that give you the news, sport, weather updates and details of upcoming community events in Castlebar as well as non-stop music? What does a radio producer do?
Well, on Thursday 22nd December you will have the opportunity to find out. CRCfm is holding an open day for the public at its premises at the Mosaic Centre in the Harlequin Plaza on Steven Garvey Way. The Castlebar based station is inviting people of the area to drop in for festive food and drinks throughout the day, all compliments of Supervalu Castlebar.
If you wish, you can have your voice recorded on a demo advertisement and played back for you, mixed with backing music! You may also like to sit in studio for a few minutes with Johnny Oosten, Mike Richards or Benen Tierney as they present their busy daytime programmes. You might even have a go at introducing your favourite Christmas song on air or have your photo taken in the presenter's chair!
The day will commence at 11am with lots of many well known people from the Castlebar area dropping in and musicians from around the county will provide live music throughout the day adding to the fun and festive Spirit.
CRCfm is located opposite the entrance to Shaw's and Boots and everybody is welcome to drop in anytime between 11am and 5pm.
