Jim's Mom moved in next door to us & is adjusting. My mom is in Nashville visiting my sister. We are heading for Nashville in 2 weeks & Las Vegas in April. This way people from around the world will be able to see the progressive, prosperous side of Castlebar. I hope you will consider my suggestion. 12 Feb 1999 brian Comments: hfdsjfdsjkf.... Hi from Brian McNicholas? 7 Feb 1999 Tom Townsend I saw your pub's webpage tonight - very nice. It is really great to be able to access places far away from one's home at the touch of a button.
I was wondering if you give me some advice and
possibly some help. From July 27 through August 4, the band that I am in here
in America, the Common Taters, is leading a tour of the west coast Ireland from
Dingle to Westport. I was hoping you could point me in the right direction
regarding our band playing for a couple of hours in a couple of pubs. We are
wanting to play one night in Dingletown and one in Galway city or the environs
of Westport, Co. Mayo. We are willing to play for little money, wanting more to
play for the experience of playing in Ireland. We think that the local people
would like to hear an American band, as well as the people on our tour would
like to see their tour leaders playing at a pub.
Our instrumentation includes guitar, mandolin,
bodhran, whistles, bagpipes and of course singing including three part harmony.
Our repetoire includes Irish folk favorites, sea chanties, modern Irish songs,
rebel tunes and American rock and roll (played with acoustic instruments of
course!). Let us know if there is any
other information you would like regarding the Common Taters. We would deeply
appreciate any advice or help in this matter.
Cordially, I am,
