The graveyard you refer to was between the outer wall(over ten feet high!) of the old County Home and the rear boundry walls of Rathbawn estate. The new Sacred Heart Home would have been built on this graveyard and not Rathbawn estate. In the early 1960 the round iron disc markings of the graves could be seen protruding through the grass in the graveyard. There were numbers on the discs. There was a big iron gate in the wall that allowed access between the graveyard and the County Home. The whole place had a very "Dickensian" feel about it and was knocked down and replaced by the new building. Perhaps the remains of those buried there were relocated to the old graveyard at the Westport Road which was still in use then.
