Yes of course I remember Francie Millar, as I though her name was.She was in the millinery dept. on the top floor of Langans.I well remember being sent by my granny for a yard of knicker elastic,(remember the white narrow stuff?!) and going into where the hats were at the top of the stairs and puttint some on, along with my brother and Francie Millar chasing us around the big brown counters, along with a lady called Maggie Mc Carthy. The counters had a glass front and mostly a glass top, except for a section near the inside, where there was the usual brass ruler for measuring materials and curtain lengths etc. Another lady who worked there then was a Miss Rice from Milebush who was fatally knocked down by a car one night. Downstairs then you had the ever smiling Michael Treacy, who was an expert in wellington boots and Mr.Pat(?)Concannon in the shoe dept. also.
