Two Castlebar consultants will be travelling to Somalia in November 2011 to run specialist clinics to help and support local medical staff. Dr. Meabh Ni Bhuinneain is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. She has a lot of experience in Kenya and has been involved in building up existing health care structures in the Londiani region. Mr. Paul O'Grady is a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. He has previously worked in Vietnam, Middle East and Kenya. Their key objective is to help provide sustainable relief through resourcing and training existing medical staff. The Rotary Club of Castlebar, which Paul O'Grady is a member of, will be running a Church Gate Collection on Saturday/Sunday 17th & 18th September supporting this worthwhile project.
