The Church Gate Collection for UNICEF which is run annually by the Castlebar Rotary Club will be held on Sunday the 21 September outside the churches in Castlebar. UNICEF a worldwide charity organisation focuses exclusively on providing assistance to the world’s poorest children. 

Walter Donohue, the Chairperson of Rotary’s Youth Committee quotes a shocking statistic "every year nearly 11 million children, about 30,000 a day, die before their fifth birthday mostly from preventable causes". He explains that UNICEF relies on fundraising from the general public and charitable organisations such as Rotary to continue their good work. So with this in mind Walter Donohue and his committee are asking you to support their UNICEF collection on September 21 in Castlebar.
