The seven-track CD, titled " Popular Favourites ", was launched by the Mayo Arts Officer, Anne McCarthy, at a function in the Welcome Inn Hotel recently.
Under the baton of Musical Director, Deirdre Lee, the CD features such well known choral favourites as " Sloop John B ", " Nothing Like a Dame ", and the Beatles " When I'm Sixty Four ".
Complimenting the choir on its initiative, Anne McCarthy said the CD captured the essence of the joy and comradeship of choral singing, and the high quality of the recording was a credit to all involved.
The choir's accompanists on the CD are George Lee and Rebecca Cresham, together with the Wolfgang Ensemble, the group which has performed with the Mayo Male Voice Choir on several occasions in the past.
Tony Conway, chairman of the MMVC, thanked the choir members and all who had made the recording of the CD such a success.
" This C.D. will be a treasured memento for supporters of the choir at home and abroad, and the selection of pieces makes it an ideal gift as we approach the Christmas season ", he said.
