Castlebar Mitchels 0-9; Westport 1-6
Castlebar Mitchels continued in their quest for promotion by visiting Westport on Sunday last, hoping for a win but coming away with a draw. An understrength Mitchels team, however performed valiantly and will in the future look back on this game as a possible pivotal game. The game was hard fought and fiercely contested and right to the end there was no time at which they were more then two points between the teams.
Castlebar led at half time by two points and felt they could have been a little bit more ahead but a goal by Westport shortly after half time put a challenge up to the Mitchels that they responded to in a very positive manner. The second half was nip and tuck, and it was only a point in the last minute by Dwane Flynn that equalised the score.

Executive meeting
A monthly meetting of the club executive will be held at 2030 hrs on Thu next in the Welcome Inn Hotel at 8 o'clock.
