HURLING CLUB

Castlebar Mitchels Hurling Club A.G.M.
will be taking place on this Sunday the 18th of November @ 2.30pm in the Welcome Inn Hotel.
The club are interested in new members joining. Feel free to come along and join in on Sunday.

Training times
Senior and junior football: Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30 p.m.
Under 21 training
Training continues for our under 21's on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30 and Sunday at 10 a.m.

Castlebar Mitchels Ladies Under 12 Football Team played their last league game away to Breaffy . Castlebar played excellent football throughout the match and won in the end by an impressive margin. Match referee was Kevin Corcoran.

For those who did not have the opportunity to play in the match mentioned above, a second match was organised. Unfortunately victory this time belonged to our neighbours. The Castlebar girls produced a fine display on this occasion too.

Castlebar Under 12 team would like to express their thanks to any parents who assisted us during our league campaign, to John Derrig, Liam Mc Loughlin, Michael Lacey and Austin Lacey who lined the pitch at our home games and were willing linesmen and umpires on other occasions and finally to Laura Derrig and Jane Healy who supported us and assisted us at our games

Change of Training Times:
Under 12 Training will now take place on Thursday evenings @ 6.30pm. Training takes place in St. Patrick's Boys N.S. pitch. Any Under 14 girls who are interested in playing football are asked to come along on Thursday's @ 6.30pm too.
Please return any registration forms and fees that are still outstanding.

Training Times for Seniors and Under 16's:
Wednesday 6.00pm -7.30pm
Friday 6.00pm - 7.00pm
Training takes place in Mc Hale Park.

Castlebar travelled to Corofin on Saturday last and defeated the local team in a very entertaining warm up game in preparation for Feile.

Under 12 County League Round 4
Claremorris 4-7 Castlebar 4-10
Castlebar performed the Houdini act of the season when they defeated Claremorris in this very entertaining league clash played in Claremorris last Monday week. This was down to their spirited second half performance, when after trailing by seven points early in the second half, they turned the game around with a great comeback. Claremorris led at half time by 3-5 to 1-5 and stretched their lead with the first point of the second half. However they did not bargain for the fighting quality of the Castlebar lads who were deserving winners in the end.

Westport Under 12 Blitz
Castlebar travelled to Westport on Saturday last and fielded two teams in the competition. The format was 13 a side.
The A team eventually lost out by the narrowest of margins to Ballintubber in the A semifinal after beating Balla, Islandeady, Ballinrobe and Swinford en route.

Meanwhile the B team lost out to Louisburgh in the B quarter final after beating Burrishoole and losing to Westport and Ballina in the first round.
