Now in its 12 year the National Spring Clean is Ireland's biggest anti-litter campaign. National Spring Clean encourages people from all walks of life to take pride in their local environment and to take action against litter. The campaign runs throughout the whole month of April. Help us to combat the litter problem
Having achieved the highest participation levels to date in 2009, sights are being set even higher for this year's campaign. Last year's National Spring Clean involved more than 500,000 volunteers for the first time. These volunteers turned out for 5058 clean up events throughout the country. We are looking forward to an even more event-filled month in 2010 with the help of YOU - the volunteers! By volunteering for the National Spring Clean campaign, YOU are actively helping to make and keep your local environment a cleaner and more enjoyable place to work and/or live in. Your participation in Ireland's largest anti-litter initiative is very important. We all have a responsibility for litter and we are now taking action against it. So go on gather your friends, neighbours, residents association, sporting association, school, youth club, business and organise a local clean up.
Castlebar’s Spring Clean will be launched on Monday March 29 at 7 pm at the Cathal Duffy roundabout when the first clean up will take place
