The
Tidy towns committee will be holding an anti gum day on Saturday October 2. At 1.30
on that day anti gum sachets will be distributed free of charge on the junction
of Main St and Market Sq. The sachets are like a purse into which the old gum
can be deposited and brought home for proper disposal. They can also be used
for depositing cigarette butts for likewise disposal. This event will form part
of the Tidy Towns contribution to both the Town and County Council’s anti gum
campaign. They will also be distributed to the schools of the town during the
week. The presentation and prize night will be held on Friday November 6 in the
TF Royal Hotel when a variety of prizes will be distributed. All will be most
welcome.
