FAI 4 V 4 GAMES WORKSHOP

AIM:
The workshop is designed to give coaches working with young players (aged between 6 and 9 years of age) the knowledge and confidence to incorporate meaningful small-sided games into their training sessions.
OBJECTIVES:
The coach will be able to:
- Promote the use of small-sided games (SSG) practices earlier in their training sessions.
- Understand the importance of development of children between the age of 6-9, rather than winning at all cost.
- Improve their knowledge of coaching styles for working with 6-9 year old age group.
- Appreciate a better understanding of the characteristics of the 6-9 year old football player.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Attendees of this workshop should be in possession of the Kick Start 1 certificate.
DURATION/FORMAT: 3 hours.
ASSESSMENT: Attendance Certificate.
COURSE FEE: €25.

The workshop is designed to give coaches working with young players (aged between 9 and 12 years of age) the knowledge and confidence to incorporate meaningful small-sided games into their training sessions.
OBJECTIVES:
The coach will be able to:
- Recognise the 7 v 7 game format as the next step from the 4 v 4 game.
- Help the young players extend their learning to have a greater understanding of the game.
- Make the progression from the 4 v 4 game as seamless as possible for the young player, whilst making this experience fun and appropriate to the children's age and stage development.
- Understand the importance of development of children between the age of 9-12, rather than winning at all cost.
- Improve their knowledge of coaching styles for working with 9-12 year old age group.
- Appreciate a better understanding of the characteristics of the 9-12 year old football player.
