The annual Mayo cup took place in Solar 21 Park Milebush last weekend. The tournament was run over 2 days .There was 3 competitions in total. On Friday evening a 9 aside tournament was ran between Mayo schoolboys, Sligo schoolboys and Chesterfield fc. The tournament was kindly sponsored by Fox and Gallagher Property's Ballina. In a fantastic final the men from Mayo ran out winners on a score line of 2 goals to 1.

On Saturday morning the main event started with teams from Athlone schoolboy's league, Mayo schoolboy's League, Sligo schoolboy's league and Chesterfield FC.

The main competition was kindly sponsored by Mulroy's, Breaffy Road, Castlebar, and Davy's Tool and Hire, Ballina. After a long hard day the overall winners were Mayo schoolboys who defeated Chesterfield FC in a great final by 3 goals to zero. Athlone's schoolboys won the shield and all kids were given a medal to mark the event.
