Mayo Caps for Republic of Ireland V Wales.

The Republic of Ireland V Wales under 18 game, will take place on Wednesday 15th February in Ferrycarrig Park Wexford.

Four of the panel that have been selected are presently playing for Galway clubs Mervue Utd and Salthill Devon.

Of these four, two are from Mayo: Conor O'Malley formerly Westport Utd and Conor Byrne formerly of Kiltimagh/ Knock. This match gives them a great opportunity to further their careers in the years ahead.

They will be presented with their Irish Caps after the game in Wexford.

Jersey Presentation in Aid of Cancer Support and Rock Rose House.

A lovely occasion took place in Milebush Park Castlebar, last Saturday evening, when the Mayo Football League made a special presentation to Bonniconlon Bord Na Nog/ Cancer Support group, of a signed Republic of Ireland Jersey for their forthcoming fund raising campaign, which is in aid of Cancer Support and Rock Rose House.

Some time ago Liam Henry from Bonniconlon Bord na Nog contacted Pat Quigley, member of the Mayo league with his special request. True to form, Pat got the signed Jersey, and the presentation was made.

As Liam Henry said, when thanking the Mayo League for the signed Jersey, relationships have come along way between the GAA and the FAI, over the last number of years. They were delighted to get the signed Jersey, and it was for a very good cause.

Pat Quigley said he was delighted, on behalf of the Mayo Football League to help with the request, it was for a very good cause, and it was great to see the relationship between the two biggest bodies in sport in the country, working and supporting each other.

Tommy Ginley of the Mayo Cancer support group and Rock Rose House, was also present for the handover, as was Paraic McHale Chairman and other members of the Mayo League.

Rumours Rumours

Big rumour around Castlebar last weekend was that Declan Kilkelly is leaving Achill Rovers and returning to Castlebar Celtic.

Declan only recently signed up with Achill Rovers to play in the Mayo Masters League. No doubt he wants to keep in, on the Managerial side.

Last Season Castlebar Celtic remained unbeaten, under his stewardship in the Elvery Super League, maybe he is going for the double.
