Castlebar Musical & Dramatic Society Announce Auditions for their 2015 Production

Castlebar Musical & Dramatic Society will be holding auditions on the 24th and 25th August at 7pm for their upcoming production, Fiddler on the Roof, in the TF Royal Theatre Castlebar. Those interested in joining the chorus are encouraged to attend on the 24th while those looking for a principal part can audition on the Tuesday night. Details of the auditions can be found on the society's website www.cmds.ie
Jennifer Hiney, chairperson of the society, was brimming with excitement about the new production: "Fiddler is a terrific show and we are delighted to be staging it here in Castlebar. The music is fantastic, the story is superb and there are so many talented individuals in Castlebar and the surrounding area that we know we will be able to produce a spectacular show!"

Castlebar Musical and Dramatic Society is a very young group having only been founded in July of last year. However, they already have an impressive accolade under their belt with an AIMS award for Donna Ruane for her portrayal of ‘Aunt Eller' in last year's hugely successful production of Oklahoma!
"To get an AIMS award is a massive achievement, not to mention for our very first show! We really want to build on the success and momentum of last year. We are welcoming back our production team with director Alanna Ní Mhíocháin, musical director Deirdre Lee and choreographer Colette McGinty. We will also be returning to our home in the TF Royal to perform the show."

Jennifer went on to describe the comradery that was built up between cast members during last year's production: "When you work in a group on a collective project like a musical, you get to make many new friends and have a lot of fun along the way. We really hope to see all of the people who took part last year at our auditions but we also really want to welcome any new members who would be interested in joining us. The society was founded with a policy of openness and inclusion so we would welcome anyone interested in performing, helping with back stage, make-up, fund-raising, etc. to come along on the 24th or 25th to the TF Royal from 7pm."

Anyone looking for more information, can contact Alanna on 087-7612214 or Colette on 087-9755412.
