Mayo Male Voice Choir have a busy schedule lined up for Christmas Week. It's go, go, go for the mostly retired choir - not sure if we will be able to stand the pace, but we are very willing to give it a go. The schedule is as follows:

Sat Dec 20th - 2 pm to 3.30 pm Tesco, Castlebar. (designated charity: Childline)
Sat Dec 20th - 4 pm to 5 pm Cuan Chaitríona, Castlebar
Sun Dec 21st - 3 pm Abbeybreaffy Nursing Home
Mon Dec 22nd - 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm Tesco, Castlebar.
Mon Dec 22nd - 4 pm to 5 pm Boots Chemists.
Tues Dec 23rd - 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.- Knock Airport.

It will be great to be back in Tesco and we always get a very special welcome in Abbeybreaffy, our choir members really enjoy singing there. This year we will be singing in Boots for the first time and most of our choir weren't around when last MMVC sang in Cuan Chaitríona, so they will be extra special events for our choir. But, we don't think any of these venues would take issue with the event that all our choir really enjoyed last year and are delighted to be asked back, singing for our returned emigrants and holiday makers in Knock Airport on Tuesday, December 23rd. The airport was buzzing last year, with Mid-West Radio interviewing the passengers as they emerged through the Arrivals gate, a team working on a promotional video for Knock Airport and the sheer excitement of the awaiting families, looking anxiously for the first sight of loved ones. It's hard to beat that for the Christmas spirit.
If you would like to get into the Christmas spirit, come along and listen for a while at any of the public venues mentioned, we'd love to see you. If not, perhaps you will keep our annual concert in mind - the date has been fixed for Friday March 27th, when we will be joined by a dear friend of the choir for many years, David Durham, baritone and also by Mary O'Sullivan, soprano, who performance last year so wowed the audience that we were thrilled that she was able to accept our invitation to return. Keep the date in your diary free, full details will be available on our website, www.mayomalevoicechoir.org
