New Ground Community ArtsProject
This project is a follow up to the successful “New Ground” project whichtook place in Mayo in 2008. This year’s project is artist-led and will involveindividuals and groups from communities throughout the county. For this eventduring Féile na Tuaithe, the Museum collection will be used as inspiration toinform the work of the artists. Each artist will take inspiration from the humanhistory on display and will aim to revalue, re-discover/uncover and re-awakenthe values that may have been forgotten, lost or mislaid. “As our present system comes underserious strain where anxiety is fast becoming the norm, we need to look atmarking what is worthwhile”
