Another olifactory memory I have is from the tennis pavilion .Its kind of strange but here goes.Took Irish dance lessons from Dot Redmond in the pavilion for years.The older you got the later you had to wait as the younger children got their lesson first.Many an evening was spent in the girls bathroom telling ghost stories, waiting for our turn.The odour that would drive us out of there in a hurry was when they had blood donation drives and there would be the lingering smell of the antiseptic.The antiseptic smell from the hospital,the smell from the blood drives and the smell of Dettol.Well maybe thats why I became a nurse but I have never smelled anything quite like them since.
Well just to show that I'm not totally wierd,I remember a wonderful smelling sweater/jumper of one of my first sweethearts in Castlebar who shall remain nameless.
