Details: My grandfather JP McIntyre went to the US as a young man, probably around 1915-20.He had 2 brothers I know of Jim and Tom and a sister Bea (Elizabeth?) all of whom went to the states. Any more? Their parents where Patrick and Margaret McIntyre. I know they came from county Mayo, possiably Charlestown as this is where Bea married Mike Egan. Any relitives out there? I'm desperately seeking info on my mothers side.

Details: Catherine Burke,born dec 7 1887,castlebar, to John Burke and Mary Garvey, came to boston in 1901, with 3 other women from castlebar, Ellen Mclaughlin 25, Bridget Igo 21, and Margaret Quigley 30, family states her sister stayed in castlebar and died in her 90s, which would be the late 1970s or so, so the possibilities of family still there hopfully is good, any help is greatly appreciated, thank you, tommy

Details: My gg-grandfather's name was Patrick Aloysius Dennison, his only son, my g-grandfather, had the same name. His wife's name was Catherine Langley, their daughters were named Maria and Brigid. Apparently they were from Balla Parish and they emigrated to USA around 1860. In USA the two men worked for the B&O RR in West Virginia. The surname of Dennison does not seem to be very common. If anyone knows anyone who may be related to them, of any Dennison's residing in County Mayo, or a way to contact the Priest from Balla Parish, I would be interested in hearing from them. I do not have the funds to invest in a professional genealogical search. Any leads or other assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Details: I am trying to trace my auntie's family. Her name was Margaret Roche and she was born 13th. may 1919 in Ballynastoka Ballyhaunis Co. Mayo. Southern Ireland. She came to Surrey England around the year 1949 with her sister. She had 1 sister and 3 brothers. I belive she married in late 50's or early 60's to Joseph David Lennon. They lived at 20 Browning Avenue, Worcester Park. Sutton. Surrey. Sadly Margaret Lennon died in August 1976 at home. I believe that the family stayed at that address until 1989. I do not know if Joseph Lennon is still living or not. I have discovered that they had 3 children, Marie, Christine, and Ilene. Ilene would now be about 40 years of age and the other 2 girls would be a bit older. These 3 girls are my 1st. cousins so I would dearly love to trace them. I also believe that they had a son who was younger but died several years ago. He was a Down Syndrome child. If anyone knows of their whereabouts or married names I would be so very grateful, as these girls do not even know that I exist.

Details: Further info to add too my recent entry. Ellen Moran married to Thomas O'Malley had five children. Possibly all born in England. John (who emigrated to Canada early this century and whose family I am aware of), Thomas who I knew, Patrick (known as James) who was my grandfather, Peter who enlisted at 17, and was killed in the first world war, Mary Ellen who died of diptheria when young. They changed their name to Melia when they came to England. I think Ellen my g-grandmother had a sister called Rose. My mother remembers her writing to someone called Rose in her home town. My great grandmother (born Ellen Moran) died in 1938. Her shawl caught fire while she was trying to light a cigarette or pipe from the fire. She died as a result of her burns. Any body remember her? Please refer to previous entry. Ellen Moran married Thomas Michael O'Malley, (could be Michael Thomas and it could be spelt O'Mally.)

She married Thomas O'Mally and they came to England just before the turn of the century. Ellen was about 6yrs older than Thomas They had two children a boy and a girl, the girl died in childhood the boy was my grand father. Thomas O' Mally died soon after coming to England aged about 38. I think he was a bespoke shoe maker. I would be grateful if any one can help me.

Details: John Quinn 1836 mrd Sarah Morrisroe 1839 in St Nathy's Ballaghaderreen Co. Roscommon. In 1860 they moved to England, then to the US in 1871 ca. In 1874 John died, so Sarah & her five children went back to England and settled in Stockport, Cheshire. Their children were Catharine (Kitty), Bridget, John, James, Eleanor. Only Eleanor born in Cleveland, Ohio. The rest- first two born Ireland, the next two born in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, other names looking for in connection to the children are Thomas Morgan, Thomas Graham, Mary McKevoy, Mary Melia.

My grandfather's name was Thomas and he was born in 1838. His wife, Ann was born in 1840. They emigrated to America, with their son Edward Francis. I have been told he was approximately eight years old. They probably emigrated to Philadelphia, then moved to Shamokin, Pennsylvania. Comments: We just returned from a brief visit to Ireland and Castlebar. We visited the farm in Sarnaught where Mary Jo's mother grew-up. We would welcome any information web visitors may have on the Quigley family. James (Jim) Quigley returned to Ireland from Chicago, and married another returnee Kate Burke sometime after 1910. They had five children; Patrick, James, John, Ellen and Bridget. All these children eventually emigrated to England.
Can anyone give us some information on this family? We know about Mary Jo's mother (Ellen), as well as about her sister Bridget. Does anyone know where the Quigley and Burke families originate from, be it from Mayo or elsewhere in Ireland?
In addition, we would welcome any information on James (senior) and Kate Quigley. Were they originally from Castlebar/Mayo, or from elsewhere in Ireland?

I am not sure if they were from Castlebar or Westport. they had several children: Mary, John, Julia, Bridget, Patrick,Michel, Ellen, Margaret of Maggie, James and possibly a Nora or Honor. I don't know what happened to the parents, but some of the children went into an orphanage in Westport. My grandmother was Ellen and she was one of the children in there. Details: I am trying to trace my auntie Margaret who came from Ballynastoka, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo. She would have been born around 1910 to 1918.Her fathers name was John Roche/Roache and mothers maiden name was Margaret Moran. She had a younger sister called Winnifred and three brothers: Frank who went to London; John who was in some sort of home and Pat who went to Chicago.Margaret and Winnifred came to London when they were in their twenties. They possibly worked in London or North Surrey hospitals as domestics. Winnifred moved to Clapham and I believe Margaret may have moved to the Ewell, Epsom area and married. I do not know her married name and would be so very gratefull if anyone could help me. She may well be deceased but I would like to trace any of her children etc., as I have never met any of them. I also need to know of family hereditary diseases. Margaret, her sister and brothers spent quite a few years in a childrens home. Their father John left Ireland and moved to London while their mother Maggie stayed in Ballynastoka but spent some time in hospital-possibly Castlebar.I would appreciate any information at all. Not much else is known on Mitchell, but Phenix emigrated to America from Ireland around 1862. Married in 1872, Augusta, Maine and died in 1930, Lewiston, Maine. William O'Brien, (born around 1815) believed to have came over through Nova Scotia, Canada; with parents possibly.(Could be that he was born in Nova Scotia) His parents may have been the ones who came over from Ireland. Looking for his parents. William married Catherine McDonald and had son Daniel O'Brien (and others) around Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Daniel is my gggrandfather. Any help is greatly appreciated.
