Craig and Charlie Reid, aka The Proclaimers, spent most of 2006 writing and recording their seventh studio album to be released in the autumn, and are now back on the road for the summer with their live band which includes a date at the Royal Theatre, Castlebar on Friday 23rd November 2007.
Still hugely popular following albums that include 'Restless Soul', ‘Born Innocent’, ‘The Best of The Proclaimers’, ‘Persevere’, ‘Hit the Highway’, ‘Sunshine On’ and ‘This is the Story’, it’s over 20 years since The Proclaimers made their legendary TV debut on The Tube, performing the classic song Letter From America. The response to these impassioned twins singing their hearts out in their own accents about serious political issues was extraordinary and marked the beginning of a phenomenon.
The last few years have seen a huge Proclaimers resurgence proving that they are still among the most dynamic, passionate and stirring of live acts. Following the massive popularity of Peter Kay’s new Comic Relief project, he produced and directed an exclusive performance of the 80’s anthem '(I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles', featuring Brian Potter (Phoenix Nights) and Andy Pipkin (Little Britain).
