One Million Hits and counting! www.castlebar.ie the official Castlebar community website had over 1 million hits for the month of January. This confirms the site as the number one community website in the country. Thank you to everyone that helped us achieve our "million for January" target. If you haven’t already set your homepage to www.castlebar.ie instructions on how to do so are on the website.

The Western Roads Action Committee is holding a public meeting on Monday 26th Feb. at 8:30pm in the Traveller’s Friend Hotel. This committee has been set up with the purpose of putting pressure on the government to guarantee better quality roads and essential infrastructure in the county.

CCI have recently launched a publication entitled "Winning the War for Talent: Staff Recruitment and Retention Strategies for SME’s". This guide is full of practical hints to apply in your business. Copies are available in the Chamber Office



This month we begin updating our database of businesses, which is available on www.castlebar.ie Please provide this information to the students that call you. Do you know that you can avail of a free listing on the website. This includes 100 words describing your business.

Please note that the cost of issuing Certificates of Origin has increased to £10 for members and £15 for non-members.

The CCI Annual Conference in May 2002 will be held on Connaught. They are currently looking for hotels/ conference facilities to host this event. Full criteria are available.

Congratulations to the Information Age Committee who saw the completion of yet another project recently when the youth information kiosks were officially launched in Davitt College. These kiosks are designed to provide information on all aspects of life to teenagers in a medium that they are familiar with.

As per the January meeting a major membership drive will commence shortly and we would appeal to everyone to support this and to encourage new members to join the chamber. Remember membership is one of the key elements to a vibrant chamber. Do you wish to receive this mailing by email??
