Firsts

The firsts had a relaxing weekend but there was still rugby to be played as they faced Banbridge in a friendly at Cloondeash. In a game that was entertaining both sides gave as good as they got and everyone enjoyed a good evening afterwards. Especially after the international! Training continues and there are some vital league games still to be played with the first round of the cup on the 28th of March.

The seconds have been drawn in the Ard Na Cregg to play Ballyhaunis. This game will take place in Ballyhaunis on the 21st of March. In what has been a tough season for the seconds with the injury crisis to their firsts, this is a real opportunity to enjoy their rugby. It is still important that players get out training.

The ladies are back in action next weekend as they take on Carrickfergus in the All Ireland League. This should be an interesting game with the girls confident of a good result. Everyone is asked to get out to Cloondeash and give their support.

At least 80 players travelled to Westport to take on the home side in a mini Blitz. We played under 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and under 12 games. The plan was to enjoy the rugby and it was fantastic to see the training pay off with some excellent team displays from all teams. We would like to thank Westport for looking after the teams very well on a well organised day. Training continues at 10.45am on Saturday.

Next Sunday Castlebar U 18 play Corinthians in Galway at 12:00 mid day. This is an excellent opportunity for these lads to compare themselves against the very best in Connacht. The coaches are asking as many parents, player's and supporters as possible to attend and give the lads as much support as possible.

Members are asked to stay tuned to MWR and CRC for details on upcoming games as at the time of writing certain games may not go ahead.
