FAI Mayo Schools Soccer Competition

Last month our school qualified for a five-a-side soccer competition in Milebush Park in Castlebar,This soccer league was organised by the FAI (Football Association of Ireland). There was a girls and a boys competition. There were almost 30 teams there, including boys and girls, from every corner of Mayo.

We played Snugboro and Quay N.S. Ballina in our section. We beat both teams and qualified for the play-offs. We had to play Kiltimagh and Foxford next. We drew with each of them.

We made it to the final where we faced Foxford again. We lost 3-1 and were disappointed but we knew we had tried our best and everyone was proud of us.

It was our first time to participate in the competition. The team was : Bruna Da Silva, Kate Middleton, Sinead Mylett, Grainne Flynn, Caitlin Quinn-Bailie, Maeve Murphy, Laura Canning, Dearbhla Mullins and Lana Murray.
