The inside of the old Church of Ireland in Clonbur. An old tyre stands in place of the old vicker that once presided over this beautiful church.

Not far from Clonbur you have the newly refurbished RC church in Cong. The local flock used the COI church in the grounds of Ashford castle while this church was being rebuilt. Its a testimony to the cooperation between the 2 churches, and it’s a wonderful design and use of the surroundings of the old church which has stood place in Cong for many hundreds of years.

The legendary Thatch bar in Tourmakeady. This same establishment has been responsible for quenching manys the thirst of a weary fisher man in its time. Especially the thirsts of some of the younger gentlemen who used to visit this fine tavern as part of the Lough Carra Young anglers association. In those days there was no toilet and no government IDs.
