The 4th Western Brigade will exercise at Battalion Group level in DONEGAL /SLIGO from Mon 04 OCT to THU 07 OCT 2010. The Exercise will be a Peace Support Operations exercise which will replicate an escalating situation from peacekeeping through to a war-fighting conclusion.

There will be an emphasis on defensive operations but the exercise will appropriately examine and test the capabilities of Combat, Combat Support and Combat Service Support units of the 4th Western Brigade across the operational spectrum from PSO (Peace Support Operations) taskings to war-fighting. It is also intended to utilise the capabilities and support functions of the Air Corps and Naval Service to transport and support the units being exercised.

This will be a robust test of the capabilities of the 4th Western Brigade to operate and react to varying situations in a developing scenario.

Due to the nature of this exercise, there may be some traffic delays in the Barnesmore area of Co. Donegal and the Ox Mountains in Co. Sligo.
