Dog lovers will descend on the Royal Theatre Castlebar on Sunday 21 july for the annual dog show, in aid of the Mayo SPCA.

For the last 2 years the fundraising event has attracted thousands of people and dogs, raising much needed funds for the Mayo SPCA. This year, the event shares the day with the Connacht Football Final which is taking place across town in McHale Park. To mark the day and support the Mayo team, we have a special category in the Dog Show to include Best Dressed Dog in the Mayo Colours!!

The Dog show will run throughout the day, with judging taking place in 10 categories including Most glamorous female dog, dog with the waggiest tail, best puppy and best 3 legged dog . Registration will take place at 12pm and winners from all categories will be entered into the Best in Show at 4.30pm. We welcome everyone to bring along their dog to take part. It's a great chance to socialise your dog at a great fun family & dog friendly event!

Exhibitors from a wide range of dog-related businesses will be taking part, including a pet photography studio if you would like to have a photo with your pet! Irish pet retailers Petworld at Horkans Garden Centre, will be on hand to offer a dog tag engraving service, ensuring any pooch leaves the event in personalised style. All proceeds from the sale of tags at the event will go directly to the Mayo SPCA. Make sure to check out the variety of pets and pet products available from Connacht Gold Westport, including their pet snake!

We will also have bouncy castles for the kids, face painting and live pet farm animals including Lambie the pet sheep, Hens and chicks, Ducks and ducklings, Geese, Turkeys, miniature Goats and a family of rabbits for you to see.

Mayo SPCA were delighted with the response to last years event and it was so rewarding to see many previously rescued and abused animals so happy and much loved in their new homes. Our thanks to all who took part, we do hope to see them again as it makes all the work so worthwhile. Mayo SPCA need the support of the general public so do come along and 'Help us to help them'!, Carol Smiley said.

The Connacht Pet Show & Family Fun Day begins at 12pm on Sunday 21 July at the Royal Theatre Castlebar, and finishes at 5pm. Admission is €3 for adults and kids and dogs go free! All proceeds go to the Mayo SPCA.

If you would like to book a stand please contact Léon Fox (083) 1381331 or email info@lifestyleexpos.ie. For more information see the Connacht Pet Show & Family Fun Day page on Facebook or visit www.theroyal.ie
