The Mayo Peace Park Committee & Christ Church Restoration Committee in association with the Soroptimist Clubs North South Conference of Ireland, Annual Conference are delighted to announce the details of their world war one centenary concert. This will take place in Christ Church, Castlebar, at 8pm, on Sunday evening the 11th of May 2014.
The concert will feature the wonderful, "Cór Mhaigh Eo" our county choir, the fabulous Mayo soprano Francie Mc Nicholas from Swinford and the magnificent tenor Jerry Lynch from the County Clare, Jerry's version of the song "A Silent Night 1914", was quite simply unique & has never been bettered.
The Soroptimist Clubs Association of Ireland, are holding their Annual Convention that weekend and they will be holding a special wreath laying ceremony in the Mayo Peace Park at 11am earlier that same morning, during which they will be unveiling a special plaque to mark the participation of the women of Ireland in the world wars.
This will be a wonderful evening of music & song. We would love to have your support and attendance.
