Technology Night Report

The technology open night was on the 13th of April and it was an amazing success. The parents got a chance to see what we are doing with all the technology grants we have been getting. It started of with a ten minute talk with Mr. Keena of what will be on show for the night, next up was Mrs. Ui Dhomhnaill on how Hyperstudio and computers in general can benefit children in learning Irish. The parents were amazed at the level of Irish and also the new ways they are learning it. Next up to impress the audience was Mr. Culhane using a programme called Clicker plus it was a very easy and interesting way to write your own story. I can tell you it has been a major success. Finally it was Darragh and myself that had to present or project on local history in Mayo, we had a hard act to follow. It was done on a computer programme called Hyper studio and almost the whole school took part. It wasn’t as hard as hard as I initially thought because once I got going it was a pleasure to talk to a very interested crowd. The technology night was a major success.
