Freestone family who lived in #4 Knockapuntha Rural + RAF airlfield

Posted by yoasties on September 23, 2012 at 19:08:25:

Hi There I was hoping someone could help me with a couple of questions.

The freestone family lived (according to the 1911 census) in #4 Knockapuntha Rural (There was also a Knockaputha Urban). I was hoping someone could help me find the exact location of that home. I have searched on google maps and bing, but I am not certain where the house was, or if it maybe even still exists.

The reason I want to know is that I was given a letter + pouch that the letter was dropped in. It is dated 18-10-1918 and it is addressed to Mrs Freestone and from the pilot W. U. Dykes. He later became a famous race-driver as did Ruth U. Dykes.
The letter was dropped by him from the airplane onto her lawn.
Can anybody help me?
