On Thursday 9th January there will be an information evening in GMIT Mayo Campus for those interested in applying for the B.A. in Heritage Studies from 7-9pm. Leaving Certificate applicants and their parents, and mature students are very welcome.
Heritage students on Earth Science fieldwork

The B.A. in Heritage Studies is a three year programme with the option of a one-year add-on Honours degree (Level 8). Students study a range of modules including:
- History
- Archaeology
- Folklore
- Genealogy
- Local History
- Rural Development
- Natural Environment
- Literature
- Built Environment
- Earth Science
In addition, students also undertake work experience as part of the programme. They have the option of studying a language (Spanish, German, French or Gaeilge) or a business and entrepreneurship stream.
The programme is delivered using a combination of lectures, tutorials, lab classes and fieldtrips. Fieldtrips have been taken to a variety of locations in Mayo and around Ireland, in addition to overseas trips to cities including Rome, Florence and Berlin.
