The Sports Injuries and Sports Medicine Clinic (SISM) is celebrating their 10th anniversary providing sporting excellence in the West of Ireland by bringing an exciting line up of international speakers to its Castlebar base in Mayo on Saturday November 12th
The speakers will be a mix of medical and sporting experts and includes Dave Fevre who is the current Head of Sports Medicine, at Blackburn Rovers FC and was previously the Chartered Physiotherapist at Manchester United FC, and he will inform the audience on how they prepare at the highest level.
Johnny O'Connor, former Irish International, Connacht Rugby Player and S&C Coach at Arsenal FC Academy will look at ‘S&C and Injury Prevention in 16-21 year olds' while Mayo's Goalkeeper David Clarke, All Star recipient this year with be interviewed by Timmy Mc Carthy and will discuss his tips for Key to Success within top level sport.
Cathal Moran who is Professor of Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine at Trinity College Dublin & Sports Surgery Clinic Santry will discuss the Advances in Knee Surgery for Sports Performance while SISM CEO Martin Mc Intyre will focus on the dreaded hamstring injury.
RTE Sport Commentator Timmy McCarthy will host the session on the day and there will be an opportunity to meet all speakers afterwards as part of what promises to be a highly educational and enjoyable programme.
All people who are involved in sport, from players, athletes, coaches to parents, are welcome to gain a further insight from leading sports professionals and medical experts as why preparation is key to success in any sport.
