Best wishes to Tóchar Valley Rural Community Network who have just been adjudicated for this year's The Co-operation Ireland Pride of Place Award. They have been deservedly nominated by Mayo County Council for this prestigious award.

At a presentation in Aghagower Community Centre during the week, the adjudicators were shown the great work done by this network of rural community groups in launching The Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail earlier this year. They were later entertained at Murrisk Community Centre.

Tochar Valley Network have shown how people can come together in a spirit of co-operation and do something to enhance their local areas and the lives of those who live there.

Their work and enthusiasm should be an example to all, especially in these times of doom and gloom. It is indeed revitalizing to see some light amid all the darkness that seems to prevail in today's Ireland.
