Mostly it's about being clearer about what a good life is for us. It's also about needing to figure out if we are on the right path. Just now that might be about transport, getting into preschool, figuring out entitlements, navigating health care services, finding educational opportunities or even making space for ourselves just to take a break.

When facing any deep personal challenge most of us know that connecting up ‘face to face' with another person can be helpful. It's good to connect up with other people. It feels better when it's with someone who ‘gets where we are at'. Maybe they have ‘been there' themselves. Maybe they can help us steer a better way through the latest challenge we have to face.
Setting up a ‘Living Room Partnership' is simply about connected with the right person using a reliable and trusted contact point. It introduces the minimum formality and makes the most useful connection with the right ‘partner' for the particular life experience being faced just now. It means that when we are talking about something important we can trust that it's to the right person. Finally it's about knowing that precious time will be used well.
The person who we connect up with is what we call a Living Room ‘Partner'. In the first place they listen with respect and care. It may be helpful for them to offer some of their own story, their own experience, knowledge, or practical information on the challenge being faced. The conversation creates some sort of breathing space to recover their own power and meet their deep personal challenge with more confidence.
