You are cordially invited to this year's Spirit event, the opening event for Mayo Ideas Week 2016. The theme for Mayo Ideas Week this year is innovation and in keeping with this, the event will highlight successful innovators across Co. Mayo and showcase key success factors for growing your business. Our chairperson for the evening is Dr. Rick Officer, Vice President GMIT for Research and Innovation, and the event is being hosted by Mayo LEO and iHubs at GMIT in conjunction with Enterprise Ireland, Údarás na Gaeltachta, WestBIC and Mayo Ideas Lab.
Our key note speaker is Warren Tuttle, President of the U.S. based United Inventors Association. Warren speaks regularly on licensing and open innovation issues at inventor clubs, industry trade shows and United States Patent and Trademark Office events. Warren is also Director of Access Innovation Solutions, an open innovation consulting firm helping product developer make money from their products, and helping client companies find new and innovative products they can take to market.
The event will also feature an "Innovation in Action" session showcasing key success factors for growing your business, with presentations from a number of innovative Mayo based entrepreneurs and companies including Gerard Concannon, CBE Ireland, Cathal Shevlin, Shevlin Engineering, Sean Noone, WestIre and Niall Heffernan, The Food Store. A range of agencies and organisations supporting innovation will also be represented at the event.
