The event titled "Spirit of Entrepreneurship" takes place in the GMIT Castlebar campus on Thursday 10th September from 6pm to 7.30pm. Mr Quinn, a 2002 finalist of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of Year and winner of the All-Ireland Innovation Award 2003, founded Surface Power Technologies which develops and manufacturers solar and wind energy technology. He is regarded as a start-up veteran across the US and Europe with twenty years experience in general and global manufacturing management, and the holder of worldwide technology patents. He is a judge on the world’s largest Innovation challenge in the USA, a Council Member of the Irish Wind Energy Agency Association and an Advisor to several Government Functions and the Government Clean-Tech Policy. Mr Quinn will share his experiences of establishing and running his own businesses, including the many challenges and lessons learned along the way. Members of the public are invited to attend the event. Admission is free. Light refreshments will be provided from 6pm. Booking is advisable as places are limited.
