The allotment site at Balloor, Castlebar

Allotments are now ready for all your green fingers out there in Castlebar. Some people have already started. Allotments are up to about 200 square metres in sze. Each allotment has water and free straw, farmyard and horse manure. We also have a community shed for gatherings, flasks of tea, potting and storage of tools. Already we have varying ages, expertise and nationalities. Services provided to allotmenteers include "Gardening Weekly News Letter", weeding while allotmenteers are on holidays and informal gatherings around other allotments on site with ideas sharing. There is also a farmers' market for sale of surplus produce.

Call John 087 9388488 for directions and more details.
