ROOLABOOLA CHILDRENS ARTS FESTIVAL 2007
Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar OCTOBER 22 – 29

SPECTACULAR FIREWORKS CELEBRATION FOR ROOLABOOLA!

- Lighting up the sky over Lough Lannagh for Festival’s 10th Birthday

There will be a spectacular fireworks display on Monday, October 29th at 8pm to celebrate the 10th birthday of RoolaBoola Children’s Arts Festival.  This years display plans to be bigger and better than ever before. The festival runs from Monday October 22nd to the 29th, culminating in a visual feast for the senses with thousands of spectators expected.

The festivities kick off at 8PM and the stunning visual display will take place over Lough Lannagh. A celebrated musical score specially chosen by organizers at The Linenhall Arts Centre will accompany the very special visuals to make the whole experience one to treasure.

Pyrotechnic experts, The Black Powder Monkeys were chosen to orchestrate the various explosions of colour and light that will fill the nightime sky and be reflected in the lake below. The sequence was designed especially for this occasion. There will also be over 100 volunteers on hand to ensure that everything goes smoothly.

The festivities kick off at 8pm so don’t arrive late or you’ll miss out.  Music will be playing beforehand leading into a rousing rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ to RoolaBoola and finishing with thrilling fireworks for a not-to-be-missed night for the whole family.

There is no parking at the Lake and no access via Lough Lannagh Village itself so remember to wrap up warm and allow time to park at Tescos, Dunnes or Aldi carparks.

Roolaboola has established itself as a vital Children’s Arts Festival in the Irish calendar. It has grown from a weekend of events in 1998 to an established and respected celebration of world class children’s arts. Marie Farrell and the team at Roolaboola seek out the best events on offer from around the world and make them available to Irish audiences in this  wonderful celebration of international childrens arts including Theatre, Music, Art, Puppetry, Storytelling and Film.

Tickets are still available for some of the critically acclaimed theatre performances including the magical production from Scotland ‘Shopping For Shoes’ and The touching and hilarious show from Denmark ‘Elephant and Crocodile’.  For information call the box office at 0949028886 and full programme available are online at www. thelinenhall.com
