Hope things are well. As you may be aware the hugely successful Men on the Move Initiative has been replicated in a number of other counties such as Donegal, Meath, Longford, Limerick, Galway etc. A proposal is also in place to carry out a national research study later this year in to the programme which will involve a number of counties. The study will be co-ordinated through Waterford I.T. and funding has been secured from the H.S.E.
As part of this study project co-ordinator Dr Paula Carroll is piloting a Mens Health Training Day ( see attached outline for day) for anyone who would be working with men in a physical activity setting ie Men on the Move leaders, Walking Soccer Programme, Peil Abú, Community leaders, Sports Club leaders, Sports Partnership Tutors, Health professionals etc. The training day is scheduled for: Date: Friday 20th February Time: 9.30am - 4.30pm Venue: Mayo Sports Partnership Offices, Cedar House, Moneen, Castlebar
Places will be limited to 20 attendees so it will be booked on a first come first served basis but preference will be given to Sports Partnership personnel. Please book by return email or phone the Partnership Office at 094-9047025. There is no cost attached to the day and a light lunch ie sandwiches etc will be provided.
