Parke Arts & Drama Group
Present
Fortunes & Misfortunes
A 3 Act Comedy By Jimmy Keary

All the cast & crew from Parke Arts & Drama Group are busy with final rehearsals as they prepare to bring their presentation of the superbly hilarious Fortunes & Misfortunes to the stage in Parke Community Centre. The 3 Act comedy by the Westmeath Playwright gets its debut performance in Mayo, although a number of Keary's other plays have been performed in Mayo and Sligo most notably Castleconnor's performance of his magnificent comedy ‘My Maiden Aunt' last year.

Parke Arts & Drama Group's 2011 production of 'Cupid Wore Skirts' by Sam Cree won the Mayo Co. Co. Amateur Drama Award for 2011; so this year's production has a lot to live up to, but cast and crew alike are very happy with the progress to date and those in-the-know have informed us that there is a side splitting performance in store. We have also been informed that Breda Morris and her team have really excelled themselves with the set design this year. Take a look at the images below of the cast in rehearsals.

Once again the Group is in the lucky position to introduce some new faces to the public with no fewer than three debutants taking to the stage for the production, each year the Group has unearthed new talent and this year is no different. The Group was also lucky to have a number of understudies on standby this year, indicating that amateur drama is going from strength to strength in Parke. The Group is quickly making a name for itself around the County so much so that it has been able to attract new members from Castlebar, Ballintubber, Lahardane and Swinford this year.

So why don't you go along and see what all the fuss is about. The play will run nightly from Thursday 1st March - Sunday 4th March in Parke Community Centre with curtain up at 8.15pm sharp each night. Tickets cost just €10.00, advance booking is highly recommended as capacity is limited and demand is always high. Call Ann on 094 9031128, after 6.00pm, to book your tickets now and avoid disappointment. It's an ideal way to blow away those recession blues and a great way to spend an evening.
