Parke Arts & Drama Group

2011/2012 Production

Having experienced great success with its first three Productions the Parke Arts & Drama Group is now gearing up for its fourth Season.  We have had three tremendously successful productions to date having stage three superb comedies over the last three years - ‘Pretend Sick', ‘A Wake in the West' and ‘Cupid Wore Skirts'.  As a result of this success and the successful runs the productions have enjoyed the Group has been able to donate over €3,000 to local charities such as Western Alzheimers and Enable Ireland.

The Group recently held its AGM and is now ready to start planning its next production which will take to the stage in early 2012.  The Group is very interested in attracting some new faces into the Group.  The Group would welcome members who have an interest in amateur drama.  No previous experience is required, in fact 90% of current members had no experience of drama before joining the Group and of course we would be delighted to hear from experienced hands as well.  Each year we have introduced a number of people to drama and given them their stage debuts and all have performed brilliantly.

We would be especially delighted to hear from a ‘few good men' as we seem to be a little light on male talent at the moment.  We would also like to hear from those of you who may not want to be on stage but would prefer to be involved behind the scenes perhaps directing, producing, set design or stage management is more your thing, we'd be thrilled to have you on board as well.

Being part of a local drama group is in ideal way to pass those long, dreary winter nights that are coming our way.  You will also meet some great new people and make friends for life.  What we can guarantee is that you will have great craic during rehearsals and the show run itself and of course the after show party!

We will hold our first meeting on Tuesday, September 13th @ 8.00pm in Parke Community Centre.  This meeting will involve a first reading of the proposed Play which is a 3 Act Comedy.  If you think you might be interested in attending please contact Vincent McHale by calling 087 4106496 or Emailing info@parkedrama.com you can also visit our website: www.parkedrama.com
