TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS
Running until 24 April 2005
DOWN MEMORY LANE: CHILDHOOD IN THE 1950s 
This exhibition illustrates life for children of this period, dealing with Birth, Christening, Sleeping, Eating and Drinking,
Health, Education and Religious Life. There is also a large selection of Toys and Games on display. An extensive Education programme will run over the course of the exhibition. Further details available from the Education and Outreach Department.  Location: Museum Galleries Level -1


EDUCATION PROGRAMME
BOOKINGS ARE BEING TAKEN FOR THE SATURDAY CLUB

Learn Traditional Crafts: Starts Saturday March 5th 2005
The Saturday Club is free and all materials are provided.  Each club is limited to 15 places. Age 7 - 13 years.

Wednesday 2 March: 2.30pm
Demonstration. Blacksmithing

Experience the craft of blacksmithing with local craftsman Ray Munnelly.
Location: Museum Grounds

Sunday 6 March: 2.30pm
Talk. Women's Lives in Ireland 1850-1950

To mark International Women's Day, join Caitríona Clear, Department of History NUI Galway, author of "Women of the House: Women's household work in Ireland 1921-1961" (2000). Location: Museum Galleries Level -2

Seachtain na Gaeilge

The National Museum of Ireland celebrates Seachtain na Gaeilge, with a range of events through Irish including tours, storytelling and music.  Irish language Activity Sheets are available. All events are bi-lingual. All Events are free but booking required

Guided tours in Irish  Turais stiúraithe i nGaeilge
Places are limited to 20. Tours in Irish will also be available throughout the week for groups.  Pre-booking is essential.
