Mayo Intercultural Action (MIA) will be celebrating International Women’s Days on Friday 6th March.
MIA will mark this important date by having a drop-in morning from 12.30 to 2 pm. To help celebrate this momentous day we are inviting women to come along and enjoy singing, crafts and refreshments with us.
Brid Kivneen will facilitate Intercultural Singing by exchanging songs from different cultures. We will also be displaying our recent Bag Making Project which was facilitated by Carmel Balfe during our craft making workshops held in MIA every Thursday night. Also on display are other recent projects, such as a Communal Weave, facilitated by Merovee Guerin in MIA last May. More than 60 people from different cultures took part.
The co-ordinator, Thérèse Ruane, will also give a brief talk on the history and significance of International Women’s day at 1pm.
Refreshments will be provided so please drop-in for a chat and some fun to acknowledge the importance of International Women’s Day.
