Exploring
life's Losses and the Road to Recovery.
Loss in our
lives can also be an invitation to wholeness. A workshop on this topic
is taking place in the Family Centre, Chapel St., Castlebar on Saturday
October 24th between 10.30 am and 4 pm. The facilitator, Fr.
Jim Cogley, is an artist of wood and a Psychotherapist. He uses the
wood symbols he has designed as an aid to help people get in touch with
“age old truths” that speak to the soul. Further information and
booking through the Family Centre at 094 9025900 or log on to www.thefamilycentre.com
Suicide
Bereavement Support
So many families
and friends are deeply affected by the death, through suicide, of somebody
whom they loved or cared for. While many people try to provide support
as best they can those bereaved by suicide often find meeting other
people who have had a similar experience to be a great help. The Family
Centre at Chapel St., Castlebar hold a very confidential Suicide Bereavement
Support group each year where they invite people who have been affected
by suicide to meet together to work towards healing. The group is facilitated
by two accredited counsellors attached to the Family Centre. The next
group is starting on Thursday 29th October 2009, at 8 pm. The support
group meets once a week for five weeks. Anybody interested in joining
this group should contact Máire Ní Dhomhnaill, Counsellor at the Family
Centre at 094 90 25900.
