Calling all budding journalists! Ever thought that you could be another Fiona O'Looney, Fintan O'Toole or Kevin Myers? They write such a lot of rubbish about nothing that really - anyone could do it? Why not give it a try here on Castlebar.News? Could you write a short daily, weekly monthly or even an occasional column? It could be on virtually any topic you care to mention. Give it a little Mayo/Castlebar twist and that's all that's needed.

We have had many semi-regular contributors going back some years now. We would like to beef up the number of writers and photographers over the summer months. In a typical month Castlebar.ie has up to 200,000 visits with e.g. 1.36 million pages read in May 2005 - so we have a big readership out there waiting to hear from you.

The contributors in other areas such as "Tech Corner" and the "Photographs" section also get a great response from those reading the material - it is very interactive in comparison with writing for a print newspaper or magazine. Castlebar.News was first published in late November 2001 and over 2000 articles have been contributed to date. The readership for Castlebar.News is a key part of the Castlebar web site. If you are interested you can use the guest account to post a piece or you can email us for a full username and password.
