The official opening of the school playground at St Joseph's N.S. in Ballinrobe took place on 21 October 2010.
Paul Butler, school principal, thanked all those who had fundraised for the playground praising the staff and students who had started the project by winning prize money in the Active Week awards.
Cathaoirleach Michael Burke attended the event and cut the ribbon with the help of Sadhbh Connolly, a Junior Infant pupil.
The playground is a fantastic facility for the school, and the children are certainly enjoying their playtime! Adding to the excitement of the day was the arrival of Donal Vaughan, Mayo footballer. A great day was had by all.
