 to lecture at the Museum of Country Life.

Twice annually, on the 18th of April and again on August 24th, from St. Patrick’s Chair, at Bohea, the sun appears to roll down the side of Croagh Patrick. Gerry Bracken, who has studied this phenomenon, will talk about his findings at a lecture in The Museum Of Country Life on Wednesday, August 1st at 2.30 p.m. Admission is free and all are welcome.

For several years Gerry has carried out studies at the Bohea Stone, near Westport, and has come up with the theory that the alignment between the stone and Croagh Patrick is in fact a Neolithic or Bronze Age calendar, used to denote the different phases of the agricultural year. This would have been vital information for the early inhabitants of Ireland.

Gerry's talk will be illustrated with many excellent slides.
