Writer, Patricia Groves,

Writer Patricia Groves gives talk at Straide symposium.

The writer Patricia Groves gave a most interesting talk at the launch of the Michael Davitt Symposium in Straide Community Centre on Friday night, November 6th, 2009. Her topic was Anna Parnell, and The Petticoat Rebellion, which is the name of her recently published book.

Anna Parnell (1852-1911) was the sister of Charles Stewart Parnell, and she was one of the founding members of the Ladies Land League, which was comprised of many militant and extremely courageous women.

Patricia Groves’ very reasonably priced book is published by Mercier Press -ISBN 978-1-85633-648-0 and is available in most good bookshops.
