River Moy

Again, the River Moy fished very well during the week with 689 salmon reported for the week. The total salmon catch for the year to date has now reached 2,621 fish. While high water levels impacted on the fishing on the lower beats, conditions were perfect in the middle and upper reaches of the river.

The Moy Fishery accounted for 37 salmon for the week. Most of the fish were taken on the Ridge Pool, where Jack Charlton got a nice fish on the worm. Jack was fishing with his friend Ray Bailey who also landed a salmon. Also on the Ridge Pool, Shane Lawless, Dublin, had 3 salmon on spinner and Paul Barrett, Ballina, got 2 fish, best at 5.54 lbs. On the Freshwater Beat, Monty Allen, Northern Ireland, had one on spinner, so had Graham Hunter, also Northern Ireland.
